Restore Collective Wellness
We have evolved with — and because of — plants over many thousands of years, and as such we are deeply intertwined. Remembrance of our connection to the rhythms and elements of nature is the wild reclamation of our ability to heal ourselves and our communities.
Medicinal and culinary plants have been a coveted resource for thousands of years, yet exploitation driven by global capitalism has resulted in deeper and deeper inequality among those who produce and those who benefit from these plants. In this guide, we will invite you to think critically about your role in sourcing herbs and working with plant medicine.
Who We are
Self care is a radical act — when you are vibrant and awake, you have the clarity and energy to show up for what you believe in. Cultivate Balance provides, goodness guides (like this one), personal consultations, virtual workshops, and in-depth lifestyle programs that support you to nurture yourself so you can nurture the world.
We are Molly McConnell and Sierra Brashear, NAMA Certified Ayurvedic Practitioners and the founders of Cultivate Balance. Our intention is to offer holistic insights and lifestyle design through the wisdom of Ayurveda, with an understanding of the intersectional impact of racism, capitalism and patriarchy. As white womxn in wellness, we have a (big) responsibility to dismantle the systems of oppression that this industry often perpetuates. It is with great reverence that we synthesize the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda in the modern world — through the prism of our own lived experiences — to make it accessible and supportive for you.
